Kelsea Ballerini Becomes Newest Member of the Grand Ole Opry

Kelsea Ballerini inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Opry member Carrie Underwood

Kelsea Ballerini and Carrie Underwood performed Opry member Trisha Yearwood’s 1992 hit “Walkaway Joe”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (April 16, 2019) – Kelsea Ballerini was inducted as the newest and youngest current member of the Grand Ole Opry tonight by Carrie Underwood, an Opry member since 2008.

Surprising the sold-out Opry House crowd after Ballerini had performed a three-song set, Underwood took the stage and said to Ballerini, “You have accomplished so much in your career, and you will undoubtedly accomplish infinite amounts more in your life. Awards, number ones, sales … this is better than all of that. This is the heart and soul of country music.”

Presenting Ballerini with her Opry member award, Underwood cheered, “I am honored to introduce and induct the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry, Kelsea Ballerini.”

After recounting her first visit to the Opry as a fan, her 2015 Opry debut, and subsequent Opry appearances, Ballerini held her award close and said, “Grand Ole Opry, thanks for seeing something in me and for believing that I’ll always love you like I do because I do, and I will.”

Ballerini and Underwood then teamed up for a duet on 20-year Opry member Trisha Yearwood’s 1992 hit “Walkaway Joe.”

Earlier in the night, CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban, an Opry member since 2012, also made a surprise appearance to deliver congratulations to Ballerini and to perform his hit “Blue Isn’t Your Color.” Later in the show, Country Music Hall of Famer and 1991 Opry inductee Vince Gill surprised the audience yet again by joining in with his friends the Del McCoury Band during the group’s portion of the show.

Opry group Little Big Town surprised Ballerini last month with an invitation to join the Opry family during an on-stage collaboration on the award-winning song “Girl Crush.”

“We are incredibly pleased to welcome Kelsea Ballerini into the Opry family,” said Opry General Manager Sally Williams. “As evidenced by the enthusiasm of the Opry members here tonight and the fans in the crowd, Kelsea and her music are much loved. She and her fellow members who made tonight so special show that the future of both country music and the Opry are in good hands.”

Marty Stuart Is 2019 Artist-in-Residence at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

MARTY STUART IS 2019 ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE AT COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME® AND MUSEUM

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 16, 2019 – In recognition, celebration and admiration for his standing as one of country music’s greatest torchbearers and most enduring talents, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum has invited Marty Stuart to be its 16th artist-in-residence.

The artist-in-residence series is both an honor and a challenge. The museum offers its theaters as a blank canvas to artists of grand consequence with the understanding that the artist will curate shows unlike any others. Stuart will produce and perform three shows, on September 11, 18 and 25, 2019, bringing with him his Fabulous Superlatives band and friends from his nearly half-century of music making.

Stuart joins a prestigious group of past honorees that includes nine members of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Cowboy Jack Clement opened the series in 2003, and other past honorees include Earl Scruggs, Tom T. Hall, Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, Jerry Douglas, Vince Gill, Buddy Miller, Connie Smith, Kenny Rogers, Ricky Skaggs, Alan Jackson, Rosanne Cash, Jason Isbell and 2018 artist-in-residence Miranda Lambert.

“Marty Stuart has made country music his life’s work, and I cannot imagine the music without him,” said Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. “He has preserved its history, photographed its legends and performed its music with integrity. Marty’s music reaches beyond traditional country, drawing influence from genres including Americana, southern gospel and hillbilly rock. Marty’s residency will no doubt deliver truly unique and memorable experiences.”

A five-time Grammy winner, platinum artist and recipient of numerous industry accolades including the Country Music Association’s prestigious Joe Talbot Award, Stuart began his musical career at age 12, when he joined the Sullivan Family Gospel Singers. After stints with bluegrass great Lester Flatt’s Nashville Grass and Johnny Cash’s backing band, he embarked on a solo career that resulted in hits including “Hillbilly Rock” and “Tempted.” Stuart has also enjoyed a successful collaboration with Travis Tritt as “No Hats” touring partners and hit-makers (“The Whiskey Ain’t Workin”).

In addition to Flatt, Cash and Tritt, Stuart has worked onstage or in the studio with Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Charley Pride, Mavis Staples, Porter Wagoner and hundreds of others. In the early 2000s, Stuart formed the aptly named Fabulous Superlatives, a band whose musical skills and sensibilities outshine the vibrancy of their Western suits. The Fabulous Superlatives issued their latest album, the critically acclaimed Way Out West, in 2017. The band includes guitar great Kenny Vaughan, famed drummer Harry Stinson and preternaturally talented multi-instrumentalist Chris Scruggs.

According to Stuart, “The ultimate destination in the world of country music is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Hall of Fame is our greatest treasure chest and a place that represents the heart and soul of our culture. Some of my most cherished memories are of events I’ve either witnessed or performed in at the Hall of Fame. It’s an honor to be the artist-in-residence this September. Hopefully, at the end of the run, the past, present and the future of country music will have been touched upon, leaving in its wake three nights of magic to be remembered at the Hall of Fame.”

Some early details of the shows planned exclusively by Stuart include:

September 11: The Pilgrim
Stuart will celebrate the rerelease of his landmark 10th studio album The Pilgrim during the September 11 show. The Pilgrim, which showcases Stuart’s songwriting and instrumental talents, tells the story of a man from Stuart’s hometown of Philadelphia, Mississippi. He will celebrate this 20-year milestone with a host of musical guests.

September 18: Psychedelic Jam-Bo-Ree
The 1960s introduced us to undeniable superstars and gave us unforgettable songs. Join Stuart for an evening celebrating country music of the 1960s, featuring a line-up of influential artists and musicians from one of the most important periods of country music history.

September 25: Songs That Tell a Story
Harlan Howard famously referred to country music as “three chords and the truth.” On September 25, Stuart will pay homage to country music’s musical stories with an acoustic show. This line-up will feature a number of Nashville’s most influential and revered storytellers.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale to the public Friday, April 19, 2019, at 10:00AM, and can be purchased through CMATheater.com. Tickets for each show range from $39.50 to $85.50 (plus ticketing fees). Sales are limited to four tickets per transaction on a first-come, first-served basis, and are non-refundable. Tucker Beathard Closes Out Rowdy Headlining “Ride On Tour”

TUCKER BEATHARD CLOSES OUT ROWDY HEADLINING RIDE ON TOUR

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (April 15, 2019) – Singer/songwriter Tucker Beathard wrapped his headlining RIDE ON TOUR, ending with an electrifying stint of shows in New York, NY (4/10), Boston, MA (4/11) and Annapolis, MD (4/13.) The tour saw Beathard return to his element on stage, playing major U.S. cities and debuting his “career making” (Music Row) new music live, including his new single “Better Than Me.” The single, taken from the upcoming second installment of Beathard’s debut double album, has continued to resonate with fans and critics alike for it’s “kinetic” chorus and “melody that swings for the fences” (Rolling Stone).
“I feel most at home when I’m out on the road,” said Tucker Beathard. “It’s awesome to spend time with the people who support me and my music enough to buy a ticket and come out to see a show. Nobody’s Everything is my first full length album release, so touring behind the music of my very first album, has been really special for me and my fans. To see people singing along and yelling out unreleased songs at shows is an incredible feeling.“
The first country artist to release a debut double album, Tucker Beathard’s first installment, NOBODY’S EVERYTHING, was immediately praised as Beathard “bares his soul” (Billboard) on the vulnerable collection.  Beathard just announced that he has signed a major recording deal with Warner Music Nashville. Beathard inked the contract following the independent release of NOBODY’S EVERYTHING and the second chapter will be released this year on Warner Music Nashville. Beathard turned heads in 2016 as “one of country music’s hottest young acts” (Pitchfork) with his debut Top 5 breakout anthem “Rock On.” Between touring, Beathard, a prolific songwriter, can be found in the studio, writing, recording and playing his music.

Caylee Hammack Has Highest Female Country Radio Debut in 3 Years

CAYLEE HAMMACK’S “FAMILY TREE” MAKES BOLD ENTRANCE
AT COUNTRY RADIO AS MOST ADDED DEBUT BY A FEMALE ARTIST
IN OVER THREE YEARS

NASHVILLE, TN – April 15, 2019 – Already racking up countless accolades as a 2019 “Artist to Watch,” Capitol Records Nashville’s Caylee Hammack marks a new milestone today confirming that “no doubt she’s born for a life in music” (CMT) as her very first single “Family Tree” is the most-added debut song by a female artist upon impact at Country radio in over three years, with 39 stations already on-board. Co-written and co-produced by Hammack, fans can listen to the ”high-spirited, rollicking” (Variety)single here.

Additionally, the music video for Country radio’s most-added song of the week “filled with smart, shit-kicking energy” (Rolling Stone), world-premiered over the weekend and can be seen here. Hammack effortlessly brings quirky autobiographical lyrics to life with her ferociously fun debut video directed by Dano Cerny (Elle King, The Chainsmokers, The Roots). Weaving together spunky imagery from her small-town South Georgia upbringing and personal tokens from her storied past, the singer/songwriter chronicles her real-life journey with the people who shaped her, inviting fans to feel like they’ve known the fiery newcomer and her ‘family tree’ for a lifetime.

Hammack was highlighted as an “Artist to Watch” by outlets such as The Bobby Bones ShowRolling Stone and HITS Magazine and has already claimed upcoming tour slots with Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert and Brothers Osborne and will appear at some of Country music’s biggest festivals includingCountry LakeShake, iHeartCountry Festival and Faster Horses Festival. Also recently announced, she will hit the road on Miranda Lambert’s upcoming Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour 2019 in September.

Background On Caylee Hammack
Caylee Hammack constantly felt like a self-described “hippie in a hillbilly town.” “I used to pray every night as a kid, ‘God, just please make me different. Don’t make me like everyone else,’” she remembers. Hammack is indeed refreshingly different. She’s a country expressionist, a grungy firebrand and a spiritual seeker. And at only 24, she has already packed a full life into just a few years, using fake IDs to get gigs around South Georgia, turning down a college scholarship for a love that burned out just a few months later, sleeping in her car when she arrived in Nashville and then losing her home in an electrical fire. “My dad has always said that the most beautiful and strongest things are forged in the fire,” she says. “Iron is nothing until you work it in a fire. Glass cannot be blown without intense heat. You can’t make anything beautiful or strong without a little heat.” Tested by the fire, Caylee Hammack has been molded into an artist with incredible depth and a powerhouse voice that can effortlessly veer from fiery and demanding to quiet and vulnerable. Her life experience and relentless curiosity have coalesced into a country cocktail that’s rooted in tradition but expands with shards of modern pop and rock. Her self-penned songs tug on her own life story – bad decisions, secret affairs, broken hearts, a quirky family lineage – as she invariably turns the lemons of her daring life into sonic lemonade.
