THOMAS RHETT’S “AIN’T A BAD LIFE” (FT. JORDAN DAVIS) IS MOST ADDED AT COUNTRY RADIO THIS WEEK AHEAD OF FRIDAY’S RELEASE OF ABOUT A WOMAN (DELUXE)

As anticipation builds for Thomas Rhett’s ABOUT A WOMAN (Deluxe) set for release this Friday (9/26), the multi-Platinum country star is making waves at country radio again with his new single “Ain’t A Bad Life” (ft. Jordan Davis). Country Radio’s most added song this week follows 24 career No. Ones, including the album’s lead single “Beautiful As You” and three-week chart-topper “After All The Bars Are Closed.” “Ain’t A Bad Life” was released in July as part of the second addition to ABOUT A WOMAN, and has already garnered praise for being “self aware and musically sharp” (Country Central).

This Friday (9/26) on all streaming platforms, ABOUT A WOMAN (Deluxe) becomes a 25-track set with three final additions—“Water,” “Chapter 10” and “On A River”—that bring a fresh dimension of vulnerability and reflective storytelling to what has been called his “paradoxical, risk-taking, label-defying best” (Holler). Kicking off the trio of new songs is an easy-grooving slow jam, with sensual vocals washing over a slinky, lo-fi R&B groove on “Water.” With the tender acoustic ballad “Chapter 10,” Thomas Rhett reflects on not giving up on a love story when the plot takes a turn. The steady, soulful sway of “On a River,” features baritone guitars that match a deep promise to follow love toward a picture-perfect future. Overall, the album’s richly-textured tunes outline the passion and promise of true devotion, with all but three co-written by Thomas Rhett himself. A project born of charismatic craftsmanship, feel-good energy and his beloved awestruck romantic authenticity combine in a creative high-water mark, showcasing why he continues to be one of Nashville’s most versatile hitmakers.

Thomas Rhett heads into the final weekend of his BETTER IN BOOTS TOUR this Thursday, following a summer full of shows that included a massive sold-out headlining debut at Fenway Park. The tour has brought “a stacked setlist, genuine heart, and serious entertainment value” (Celeb Secrets) to fans across the country, delivering “one of the most feel-good country shows of the summer” (New Jersey Stage). Next up, Thomas Rhett will return to Fontainebleau Las Vegas for two nights this October, bringing his “effortlessly charming” (Syracuse.com) live show to one of Vegas’s most iconic new venues.

BRAXTON KEITH HAS THE “PRESCRIPTION” FOR A HURTING HONKY TONK HEART THIS FRIDAY, 9/26

This Friday (9/26), neo-traditional country artist Braxton Keith is set to release his latest track, “Prescription.” The song was written by Keith along with Randy Montana and John Pierce.

“‘Prescription’ is a honky tonk heartache tale of love lost and the only cure being the one who left. It’s the kind of song you feel in your chest, like a fever that won’t break until they come back.”

Recently appointed as one of Nashville Briefing’s 25 Artists to Watch in 2025, Keith was also named to Dickel Whiskey’s Class of 25 earlier this summer. He was selected as one of the “fresh faces…paving the way for the genre’s future” alongside fellow country music peers Kaitlin Butts and Tyler Halverson. Talking with Rolling Stone about the partnership, he explained his process of taking inspiration from the legacy acts on whom he was raised, with the outlet praising his music as “country gold for the modern age.”

Last year, Keith released his debut EP, Blue, featuring a selection of songs that Rolling Stone regarded as “hardcore, traditional country music” and Billboard lauded as “a slab of stone-cold country…forged from the depths of the Texas honky-tonk circuit, [which] highlights Keith’s unmistakable, conversational singing style.” American Songwriter is also decidedly a fan, declaring: “With his smoky baritone and aching ballads and mids, Braxton Keith marries crooning with Texas twang to recall the neo-traditional stars of decades passed.”

Keith, part of a new generation of country singer-songwriters leading a revival of its core creative tenets, is slated to headline over 130 shows this year, in addition to supporting artists like Cody Johnson, Gavin Adcock, and Luke Bryan on the road. He’s also been out on the road for his “This Ain’t My First Tour,” headline tour, visiting various cities across the country through the rest of the year.

COUNTRY SUPERSTARS KEITH URBAN, GRETCHEN WILSON, AND BLAKE SHELTON LEAD A NEW ERA OF MUSIC COMPETITION WITH THE PREMIERE OF CBS ORIGINAL SERIES, THE ROAD

CBS announced the highly anticipated premiere of its new docu-follow music competition series, THE ROAD, airing Sunday, October 19, on the CBS Television Network. A groundbreaking new take on the music genre, the show trades glitzy soundstages and celebrity judging panels for the raw, authentic world of a live concert tour, following 12 aspiring musicians as they compete for the chance to be the next breakout country star.

Created by a powerhouse team including executive producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan, THE ROAD places contestants in the ultimate real-world test: serving as the opening act for four-time GRAMMY® Award winner and headlining superstar Keith Urban. With Urban also serving as an executive producer, the show offers an exclusive, backstage pass into the unforgiving life of a touring artist. Each week, contestants must win over a live audience with their performances to earn a spot at the next tour stop.

Country music icon Gretchen Wilson joins the team, serving as the series’ “tour manager.” Drawing from her own extensive experience, Wilson will mentor and guide the emerging artists through the unique challenges of life on the road, offering invaluable advice on everything from set lists to working the crowd. “Stepping into the role of ‘tour manager’ for THE ROAD has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned over all of my years of touring and pour it right back into these emerging musicians,” Wilson shared.

“The concept of putting artists in a real-world environment versus a TV studio was really appealing to me,” said Urban. “It’s where the rubber meets the road—literally.” The series is a testament to the hard-earned realities of the industry, offering viewers an unfiltered look at what it truly takes to make it.

THE ROAD premieres Sunday, October 19, at 9:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and will be available to stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers.

Multi-Platinum chart-topper and “country hitmaker” (Sports Illustrated) Russell Dickerson is “hitting new heights” (Billboard) landing his sixth career No. 1 on Country Aircheck/MediaBase and Billboard Country Charts this week with “Happen to Me.” Since its release, the “lighthearted” (MusicRow) single has racked up over 200 million global streams, marking the “rising star’s” (Vulture) biggest streaming debut to date. Recently certified RIAA PLATINUM, the “global hit” (FortNash) has also spent multiple weeks at No. 1 on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Canada and UK Country Radio Charts, continues its climb on the Billboard Hot 100, and is breaking into pop formats—already reaching the Top 20 on Hot AC and cracking the Top 40 (No. 37) across all genres. Adding to his success, Dickerson, hailed as “one of country’s hottest acts” (Holler) and praised for bringing “a party on stage” (People), delivered a show-stopping performance of his No. 1 single “Happen to Me” live from ESPN’s College GameDay in Knoxville,TN this past Saturday (9/13).

About Russell Dickerson:

CHARLIE DANIELS PATRIOT AWARDS DINNER RAISES OVER $600,000 TO SUPPORT U.S. VETERANS

The Charlie Daniels Patriot Awards Dinner, benefiting The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project (TCDJHP), returned to Nashville’s City Winery Wednesday, September 14, raising more than $600,000 to fund critical programs for U.S. veterans, first responders, and their families.

Founded in 2014 by the late Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie Daniels and longtime manager and friend David Corlew, TCDJHP provides resources to help veterans return, rehabilitate, and reintegrate into civilian life. This year marked the 11th anniversary of the Patriot Awards, honoring individuals and organizations who embody the nonprofit’s mission of service and support.

The evening featured a historic reunion of Annex Security Team members Kris “Tanto” Paronto, John “Tig” Tiegen, and Mark “Oz” Geist—the first time in 13 years that the three men who fought in the Battle of Benghazi had gathered together.

Family members of fallen heroes also appeared, including Cheryl Woods, mother of Tyrone “Rone” Woods (GRS Operator for Annex Security Team in Benghazi), and Greg Doherty, brother of Glen “Bub” Doherty (GRS Operator in Tripoli, Libya).

Nashville business leader Lee Beaman was honored with the Giving Heart Award, which recognizes outstanding dedication to veterans and their families through acts of generosity and long-term commitment. As Chairman and CEO of Beaman Automotive, Beaman has built one of Middle Tennessee’s most respected automotive groups while devoting significant resources to causes that span faith-based organizations, healthcare, education, and veteran support programs.

A 2025 Patriot Award was presented to Debbie McElhinney, Founder and CEO of American Military Family. A proud mother and grandmother, McElhinney has dedicated the past two decades to serving military veterans and their families, a passion rooted in her own family’s history during the Vietnam War era. She has been recognized nationally, including by President George W. Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, for her tireless advocacy on behalf of America’s servicemen and women. Today, her organization leads initiatives to directly support troops and their families, with her driving mission focused on ending veteran suicide.

The event also acknowledged the Patriot Award presented earlier this year to the Grand Ole Opry, which was honored during a July 8, 2025, concert at the historic venue. The recognition was part of the “Opry 100 Honors” series celebrating the Opry’s centennial and underscored the ongoing cultural impact of the award.

Additional appearances throughout the evening included TCDJHP co-founder and president David Corlew, General Terry M. “Max” Haston, Mike Carado, and Carolyn Corlew. Hazel Daniels, wife of the late Charlie Daniels, and their son, Charlie Daniels Jr., were also in attendance. The evening was hosted by television and radio broadcaster Storme Warren and included emotional moments of remembrance for Charlie Kirk and Bernard “Bernie” Kerik, along with spirited live and online auctions that boosted fundraising efforts. Notable items included a classic motorcycle previously owned by a veteran, an American flag carried on a culvert drone mission deep within enemy territory by the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (“Night Stalkers”), and many other unique items.

Since its founding, TCDJHP has forged impactful partnerships with organizations such as the Shepherd Center, Operation Song, Charlie Five Equine Therapy, and the Special Forces Community. In 2019, the nonprofit’s donation to Vanderbilt University/VA Medical Center enabled the first CAR-T cancer treatment ever performed at a VA hospital. Today, the Nashville VA remains the only VA hospital in the country offering this lifesaving therapy, with nearly 100 treatments performed on veterans to date.

“The Patriot Awards are about more than one night—they’re about continuing Charlie’s mission to fight for the men and women who have fought for us,” said David Corlew, co-founder and president of TCDJHP. “We are honored by the generosity of our supporters and remain committed to ensuring every dollar raised goes directly to programs that provide hope and healing for our veterans.”

The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project (TCDJHP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping U.S. military veterans successfully return, rehabilitate, and reintegrate into civilian life. Founded in 2014 by the late Charlie Daniels and his manager, David Corlew, the organization partners with vetted programs to maximize impact, offering resources in healthcare, education, employment, and mental health support.

TY HERNDON & CHRISSY METZ JOIN FORCES ON MOVING NEW VERSION OF “SHE WANTS TO BE WANTED AGAIN”

Grammy-nominated country artist Ty Herndon and singer-actor-author Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”, “The Hunting Wives”) will release a reimagined version of “She Wants To Be Wanted Again” on September 19. First recorded by Herndon and released as a single from his 1996 sophomore album Living In A Moment, the song was written by Billy Henderson and Steven Dale Jones.

“This song has always held a tender place in my story — it’s about longing, second chances, and the simple human need to be truly seen,” said Herndon. “Bringing it back with Chrissy, who sings with such heart and honesty, lets us honor the original while refreshing it for a whole new generation of listeners.”

Originally released in 1996, “She Wants To Be Wanted Again” became a fan favorite and climbed into the Top 30, peaking at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart—helping define the era that made Living In A Moment a signature record in Herndon’s catalog.

The new recording brings to life the natural chemistry between Metz’s honest, resonant vocals and Herndon’s unmistakable tone, framing the lyric with contemporary production that underscores the song’s pulse and heartbreak without losing the classic feel fans know and love.

“I’ve loved this song since the first time I heard it,” said Metz. “There’s a tenderness and vulnerability in the lyric that feels as relevant today as it did in the ’90s. We hope listeners hear themselves in it and feel a little more understood.”

“She Wants To Be Wanted Again” will be available on all major streaming platforms on September 19, marking the third single from Herndon’s forthcoming double album career retrospective. The first installment, THIRTY Vol. 1, is due this fall on his new label home Club44 Records. The project will feature reimagined versions of some of Herndon’s biggest hits and fan favorites, each featuring guest collaborators to bring these classic country hits to life for a new era.
