No strangers to crossover success, the Bellamy Brothers transcend genres on Covers From The Brothers, which also includes everything from some of their favorites by Bob Dylan (“Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”) and Stevie Wonder (“I Just Called to Say I Love You”) to the songs they performed countless times in their early bands like “Games People Play” (Joe South).

“I Can Help” featuring Dennis Quaid was released as the project’s lead single on July 9 along with a video to accompany the “rollicking track” (Taste of Country). The Bellamys filmed the video during their recording session with Quaid where they “got to witness a transformation that crossed a veteran actors’ creative process with his lifelong love of music (Wide Open Country).” People.com premiered the video, filmed by Derrek Kupish of dkupish productions, while the trio debuted their live version on the Grand Ole Opry.

The Bellamy Brothers were inspired to record an entire album of covers after a label in Switzerland asked them to cut a couple of covers for a duets project. Produced by the Bellamy Brothers and Randy Hiebert, the 12-song collection also includes the talents of Paul Franklin from Vince Gill’s band and Jenee Fleenor from Blake Shelton’s band. Covers From The Brothers follows the Bellamys’ 2020 Bucket List EP that included their collaboration with John Anderson, “No Country Music For Old Men,” which has amassed over 3 million views.

When the stay-at-home orders took effect in March of 2020, the Bellamy Brothers were on Blake Shelton’s Friends And Heroes Tour. They returned to their Florida homestead where their hit reality series, “Honky Tonk Ranch,” is filmed and stayed busy through a partnership with the Florida-based medical marijuana company Trulieve on their Old Hippie Stash flower product line. The Bellamys recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of that partnership and are back on the road performing to fans across the country and gearing up for their 2022 European tour.

Jackson Melnick’s Abilene available today

Produced by Christopher Henry (Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band) and featuring Jason Carter, Matt Combs, Alex Leach, Tuck Tucker, and Cory Walker

Colorado songwriter Jackson Melnick is pleased to announce the release of his album, Abilene. Available everywhere today, Abilene finds Melnick’s songwriting prowess matched perfectly with the musical talent of collaborators Jason Carter, Matt Combs, Alex Leach, Tuck Tucker, and Cory Walker. Christopher Henry from Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band helmed the band as producer. Although the arrangements draw on the traditional sound of Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley, among others, Abilene is at heart a songwriter’s record. Across these 10 tracks, Melnick combines his reverence for bluegrass with a lyrical point of view that is both mystical and topical.
Growing up in Crested Butte, Colorado, Melnick began meditating when he was 8 years old. Within a few years, he learned to play guitar and started busking—first singing John Denver and Steve Earle songs, then moving toward Dylan classics. Through most of his teenage years he hosted a weekly radio show on a local community station, too. But the most transformative moment may have been when he was 17 years old and saw a video of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings on stage. “I was watching them, and I felt like I knew exactly what they were doing, and how they did it. It was a transmission, like, ‘I know how to do that,’” Melnick recalls. “It hit me like a stack of bricks. Then I went to my guitar and I wrote three songs. They just sort of poured out and that was the beginning for me.”
Spend some time with Abilene today on your preferred listening platform. More details here.

THE CADILLAC THREE MAKE A BUZZ-WORTHY RETURN TO NASHVILLE

10 Year Anniversary Tour Stops in Hometown with Ryman Auditorium Shows

Truly a product of their raising, THE CADILLAC THREE returned to their hometown of Nashville for a two-night stint at the Ryman Auditorium exuding the same fervor of their youth. Singer-guitarist Jaren Johnston, drummer Neil Mason and lap-steel guitarist Kelby Ray have been performing together since their high school days and officially celebrate a decade as TC3 with their 10th Anniversary Tour, which traverses the globe through December. Last night the always-amplified trio launched with signature “I’m Southern” as “Tennessee Mojo,” “Bury Me In My Boots,” American Slang,” “The Jam” and more followed. The palpable energy from their instinctive sonic tendencies and chart-topping songwriting rolled through a myriad of jams incorporating Country, Rock and Funk fusion.

“We’re grateful to be here with you all tonight in our hometown of Nashville, Tennessee! This past year has been hard on fans, families and independent venues so we’ve tried to help highlight these special rooms where so many memories – and for some of you, a few babies – are made,” joked Jaren. “It’s been a hell of ride with Neil and Kelby, but being back at the Ryman to play you all songs from over a decade of life is pretty badass!”

Last night’s (9/1) set kicked off with Hey Steve and Boy Named Banjo will heat up the crowd tonight (9/2). Also making a debut, TC3’s collaboration with Flytes Brewhouse on Country Buzz Beer. The honey amber ale, brewed with Cascade Hopes and honey (5.5% ABV) is available at Ryman concessions during TC3’s shows as well as the Pleasant View, TN brewhouse and select locations in Nashville and surrounding areas. More details on the brew here.

“I discovered Flytes on a motorcycle ride one day and quickly became a fan,” recounts Kelby. “Fast forward about a year and it turns out, owners John and Trish Nelson are actually fans of ours too so we all thought it would be pretty cool to create something. We all got together and created our own unique flavor! Country Buzz Beer is just like us – unexpected, refreshing and a little buzzed! If you’re a beer fan, you’ll love Country Buzz!”

TC3 has remained resolute in their creativity, releasing two albums in 2020 – February’s COUNTRY FUZZ and October’s surprise TABASCO & SWEET TEA – hosting COUNTRY FUZZ RADIO and serving the music community. The Cadillac Three’s contribution to a year like no other can be measured in albums released, songs released (28), live-streamed shows recorded, donations collected, venues supported, mouths fed, and positive messages sent. Landing a spot on the revered list [ACM Awards], among their friends, collaborators, and peers, feels like a victory for the trio who has never stopped putting in the work,” observes AMERICAN SONGWRITER. With “Long After Last Call” Rolling Stone noted TC3 “Sound the Alarm for Clubs in Crisis” while their “Bridges” music video shoot teamed up with Music Venue Alliance Nashville.

Neil shares, “playing music together and figuring out life on the road is all we’ve known for most of our lives. Jaren, Kelby and I are hopeful and really happy to be back on the stage seeing familiar faces in the crowd and some new ones singing along. Stay safe everyone!”

As the last note of their GOLD-certified “The South” reverberated, it’s clear TC3’s musical roots run deep.

RISING COUNTRY BAND BEXAR RELEASES MAJOR LABEL DEBUT EP PRONOUNCED BEAR, OUT NOW

When hearing of Warner Music Nashville’s rising band BEXAR, you might stop and ask yourself, “is it bex-ar? Where does the “x” come from?” Well, BEXAR has arrived with their major label debut EP to set the record straight: it’s Pronounced BEAR (LISTEN HERE). An ode to the phonetic spelling of the band’s name, which originates from lead vocalist Chris Ryan’s home turf of Bexar County, TX, the six-track EP was produced by award-winning producers Ross Copperman and Luke Laird and showcases the band’s fresh and expressive sound, with all tracks co-written by at least one band member.
“We’re super excited for the album to be out now,” said the band. “These songs really do mean the world to us, and we feel it’s exactly what we want to say and how we want to say it. Ross and Luke really understood our vision for this EP and were a big part of bringing that vision to life.”
BEXAR started teasing the EP with their first major label song release, “Again,” which Billboard called “serious earworm potential.” MusicRow raved about the track, stating “put this on your playlist at once.” The band followed with “One Day” and most recently “Key To Life,” which Rolling Stone described as “an amiable slice of folk-pop with hints of the Lumineers and Avett Brothers.” Now, with the full EP out, fans can hear new tracks “Carry You Home,” “Be Good To Her” and “Mexico.” The body of work helps define their mix of timeless and trendy, blending their backgrounds to create a combination of Texas country and Kentucky bluegrass. American Songwriter’s The Zak Kuhn Show summarized the BEXAR brand well by stating, “these guys are going to make you wish you were in a band.”
BEXAR will soon bring the new EP to their live show when they join superstar Keith Urban on “Keith Urban Live – Las Vegas” from September 17-25. “We can’t think of a better way to follow up the release of our EP than to go out on tour with one of our biggest musical influences,” said the band. “We’re super grateful to him and his team for deciding to bring us out on the road and give us this opportunity.” The residency will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and tickets can be purchased HERE.
The band, comprised of Chris Ryan (lead vocals/guitar) and Logan Turner (vocals/banjo/guitar), draws inspiration from groups such as Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and Avicii and reintroduces country to the pop potential of wooden instruments and organic soul. Since their 2018 self-released EP, BEXAR has accumulated nearly 40 million streams to date and has been named to Sounds Like Nashville’s 2021 Artists To Watch list. Beginning today, fans can also pre-order a physical copy of the album by visiting Johnson’s website at codyjohnsonmusic.com. The massive endeavor is stacked top to bottom with songs that were originally rejected by other Nashville artists, for what Johnson considers as being too country for country. “It’s so hard to watch the fight to get the cowboy back on the radio, so I told them to bring those songs to me,” Johnson explains. “Because that’s who I am and the lifestyle I live.”
Johnson continued: “There was too much good out there to let go of, so I just said, ‘We’re going to cut all of them.’ There are ones I wrote on, there are ones I didn’t write on, and there are ones that I wish I’d written. I addressed things personally with this music and when people listen to Human, they are going to hear a lot more of me being me. I am finally comfortable with myself and able to share that with my fans.”
To celebrate the announce, Johnson has also released the brand-new tracks “Treasure” and “Son of a Ramblin’ Man,” which are both featured on the 18-track project (LISTEN HERE). Backed by harmonies and a beautiful fiddle feature, Johnson brings to life songwriter Matt Rogers’ lyrics in “Treasure,” which tells a story about how beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. He then puts his Texas spin on “Son of a Ramblin’ Man,” written and originally recorded by legendary singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vince Gill.
In addition, Johnson’s feature-length documentary, Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story, can now be rented or purchased exclusively via the Apple TV app through October 8 in the US and Canada (CLICK HERE). The Texas native also sat down with Today’s Country Radio host Kelleigh Bannen to break down what it means to be a cowboy and how his forthcoming album is an invitation for listeners to accept the highs and lows of their own lives. Fans can tune in and listen today (9/3) at 5amPT/7amCT/8amET or anytime on-demand at apple.co/_TodaysCountry.
Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story was first released to select cinemas nationwide for a limited time, with multiple showings added due to popular demand, for a total of 239 theaters featuring the movie across the country. Alongside guest appearances by Reba McEntire, Navy Seal Chris Kyle’s widow Taya (Kyle), and more, Johnson opens up about how his years on the rodeo circuit fortuitously prepared him for his life as a country star. From standing in the back of the chute at the rodeo or singing about it in front of 75,000 fans, fans will learn more about his real-life journey from the dusty rodeo arenas of rural Texas to some of the biggest musical stages in America. The film vividly captures all the emotional highs and lows that come from the dreams you cling to and the dreams you ultimately let go of.
ABOUT CODY JOHNSON:
Known for his explosive live shows and electrifying stage presence, COJO Music / Warner Music Nashville Platinum recording artist Cody Johnson has established a following of passionately loyal fans who regularly sell out shows across the country and have helped him accumulate more than two billion streams worldwide. The recipient of multiple ACM and CMA Awards nominations, his RIAA certifications include two Gold-selling songs (“Nothin’ On You” and “With You I Am”) and the Platinum-selling, Top 10 single, “On My Way To You.” Named one of NSAI’s 10 Songs I’d Wish I’d Written 2020 and ASCAP’s Most Performed Songs of 2019, “On My Way To You” was featured on his first major-label release, Ain’t Nothin’ to It, which skyrocketed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and all-genre Digital Sales charts. The Tennessee Star Exclusively Premieres First Listen

Australian singer/songwriter Jasmin Bade releases her playful new single “X’s & Y’s” and lyric video, which premiered on American Songwriter, today. “X’s & Y’s” provides a positive outlook on embracing the single life. Bade co-wrote the song with Emily Kroll who penned the No. 1 hit “Just About Over You” by Priscilla Block and had the track produced by Steven Martinez (Pentatonix, Lionel Richie).

To stream or download “X’s & Y’s,” click HERE.

The Tennessee Star premiered a first listen to the “fun, relatable” track, while American Songwriter premiered the lyric video for the song, which they praised as a “fun, bubbly vibe and lyrics that are almost Shane McAnally-esque.”

“I would come out of these relationships, and so would my friends, and we would look back a while later and think, ‘why did I even date this guy in the first place?’ I think everyone has an ex or someone in their life that in hindsight, seems like a huge mistake. And there are so many sad songs about being single, when in reality, more and more people are choosing to stay single for longer and longer every year. So, I wrote ‘X’s and Y’s’ because we’ve all been through it, and now all there’s left to do is laugh about it,” shared Bade.

An advocate for mental health, Bade released her debut single, “I’m Fine,” in 2019. The single reached radio play in over 50 countries and landed on key Spotify playlists such as New Music Nashville.

To stay up-to-date with Jasmin Bade, follow her on InstagramTwitterFacebook and visit jasminbade.com.

ABOUT JASMIN BADE
Dubbed as “one to watch” by the Nashville Songwriters Association International for her debut single “I’m Fine,” Jasmin Bade hit the ground running when she touched down in Nashville straight out of college. The Aussie native quickly paired up with Spencer Jordan (Maroon Five, Danny Phantom) to pen the song, which was produced by Steven Martinez (Pentatonix, Lionel Richie). Bade’s debut single reached radio play in over 50 countries and landed on key Spotify playlists such as New Music Nashville. Bade regularly works with hit writers like Phil Barton (Lee Brice, Woman Like You), Chad Carlson (Taylor Swift, Fearless) and Emily Kroll (Priscilla Block, Just About Over You). With vocals comparable to Miranda Lambert and Natalie Maines of The Chicks, Bade uses a combination of elements that pull from the classic country she listened to growing up as well as the pop hits heard on today’s charts. As a songwriter, Bade is skilled at getting to the root of the story, which brings authenticity to her lyrics. Her writing focuses on love, relationships with others, and relationships with ourselves; bringing the topic of mental health to light in her debut single, “I’m Fine.” Bade’s newest single, “X’s & Y’s,” is available everywhere now.

ASHLEY McBRYDE KICKS OFF FIRST-OF-THREE SOLD OUT HEADLINING SHOWS AT THE RYMAN AUDITORIUM

Surprise Guest Eric Church Joins McBryde on Stage for a
Special Rendition of Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider”

This Town Talks Tour Continues Through January 2022

Four-time GRAMMY nominee Ashley McBryde launched her sold out three-night headlining debut at the historic Ryman Auditorium Thursday, Aug. 26, opening a cappella with never-released-or-recorded rollicking hymnal “Ain’t Enough Water,” before her band Deadhorse kicked in for what followed: a full-throttle, fist-pumping hour-and-half set.

“It’s a beautiful night for country music,” McBryde said, beaming. “Here’s what you’re gonna experience: some country songs, some rock songs; some happy ones, maybe some sad ones; some slow ones, some fast ones and some half-ass ones,” the Arkansas-native noted after “El Dorado.” “Let’s get on with it!”

As the crowd rejoiced alongside her, she launched into “American Scandal” from her Warner Music Nashville debut album Girl Going Nowhere, and the at-capacity crowd was reminded why Billboard frequently uses the word “authentic” when describing the singer/songwriter and expert storyteller.

Only six songs in, she teed up her GRAMMY nominated “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” forced to take a few steps back from her microphone throughout the performance to take in the crowd’s reaction to her line “I hear the crowd,” eventually composing herself before continuing.

The night’s opening act Lainey Wilson, an up-and-comer with Top 5 hit “Things A Man Oughta Know,” also returned to the stage joining McBryde on the Linda Ronstadt/The Everly Brothers’ “When Will I Be Loved.” McBryde sharing prior to their collaboration, “How about a nice round of applause for our sister, we’re so proud to have her!”

Occasionally pausing to survey and absorb the energy of the audience, McBryde shared, “Here’s one of my other favorite reasons to love country music, live music period. For as long as I stand here, as long as Lainey stands here, as long as you stand or sit here, nothing else gets to matter. For 90 minutes, I’ve got no problems. There’s nothing else in this world that can accomplish not giving a shit that doesn’t come in a bottle or a pill. Country music, it only elevates. So, if you had a great day today, we’re so happy you chose us to celebrate with, and if you had a shit day today, you leave the rest of that to us.”

And with the crowd celebrating McBryde in full control, she then surprised the audience with a special guest, simply introducing him saying: “Eric F*cking Church.”

The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year was met with thunderous applause before the pair closed out the set with a performance of the Allman Brothers Band’s classic, “Midnight Rider,” creating a full-circle moment from early in McBryde’s career when Church invited her onstage at a Chicago tour stop in 2017 to perform the emotive, fan-favorite “Bible and a .44” together.

As that song followed, Church watched on from side stage with pride.

McBryde ended night one at the Ryman with the bluesy Girl Going Nowhere closer, “Home Sweet Highway,” a fitting encore closer as McBryde and her band celebrate being back out on the road after being away from “home” for more than 15 months.

“And that’s the show,” McBryde, still beaming. “This is the perfect time to remind you: you didn’t show up to the Ryman Auditorium tonight because we were going to be here, we showed up tonight because you were going to be here.”

Catch McBryde at one of the 23 additional dates on her This Town Talks Tour, wrapping in early 2022.
