TIGIRLILY GOLD CELEBRATE BIGGEST HEADLINING SHOW TO DATE
For ACM Award-winning country duo Tigirlily Gold, returning to North Dakota has always meant far more than just coming home. On Monday night, August 10, sisters Krista Slaubaugh and Kendra Olson celebrated their biggest headlining show to date, playing to a packed crowd of over 1,600 fans at Medora’s iconic Burning Hills Amphitheatre.
The milestone event brought together fans from across the region for a night of music, hometown pride, and memorable surprises. Raised in Hazen, North Dakota, the sisters built their early career performing across the Midwest before moving to Nashville, earning critical acclaim and a devoted nationwide following. Monday’s massive gathering marked a triumphant full-circle moment for the rising country stars.
A Celebration Rooted in North Dakota
The evening proved to be a tribute to the duo’s roots, complete with uniquely local touches:
Community Collaborations: The sisters welcomed a young audience member onstage to help sing “Somebody Does,” and were later joined by the Central Dakota Children’s Choir’s Angelica ensemble for “Call It Home”—the track written for their North Dakota Tourism campaign.
Supporting Local Talent: North Dakota singer Laila Noelle opened the show after being personally invited by the sisters. Tigirlily Gold surprise-FaceTimed Noelle to ask her onto the bill, remembering a performance at her school years earlier.
Historic Nostalgia: A Teddy Roosevelt impersonator introduced the duo, a nod to the area’s heritage following the July 4 grand opening of the nearby Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.
Previewing Country & Midwestern
The audience was treated to an early preview of Tigirlily Gold’s upcoming 16-track sophomore album, Country & Midwestern, scheduled for release on October 9. The duo performed eight tracks from the new project, including an emotional performance of the unreleased song “Folgers,” written as a tribute to their grandparents, who were all sitting in the audience.
The new record—which follows their 2024 debut Blonde—is structured in two distinct thematic halves:

The duo closed the night with one final surprise for the hometown crowd, bringing out their popular “Midwestern mom” alter egos, Barb & Sheila, for an encore cover of Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”
What’s Next for the Duo
Tigirlily Gold won’t be away from home for long. The duo is scheduled to return to North Dakota on September 4 for a headlining performance at Spirit Lake Casino in Saint Michael, with Walker Montgomery serving as the opening act.
