The acclaimed singer-songwriter closed out her record year with the birth of her first son, Bear Brainard, as reported on People.com. Ahead of Bear’s arrival, Tolman released the personal, “It’s A Boy,” inspired by her journey into motherhood.

Last year Tolman released her sophomore album Married in a Honky Tonk to rave reviews just weeks before marrying GRAMMY-nominated producer Dave Brainard in Jackson, Wyo. in a beautiful snow-covered ceremony, as reported in People.com. A few months later Tolman returned to Jackson for the inaugural ‘Cowgirls at The Cowboy.’ The all female line up was curated by Tolman and featured reigning ACM Female Vocalist of the Year Carly Pearce as headliner with performances by songwriters Natalie Hemby (Miranda Lambert, Lady Gaga, Jon Pardi, Little Big Town), Caitlyn Smith (Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, John Legend, Meghan Trainor), Carter Faith and Tolman.

Following the festival, Tolman continued to elevate women’s voices with her video for “Watering the Weeds,” which features women survivors from the Nashville-based nonprofit Thistle Farms. The video has amassed more than 500,000 views within the first 2 weeks of being released. Click HERE to watch Tolman’s video for “Watering the Weeds.”
