Rising singer-songwriter Corey Kent achieved RIAA Gold certification for his chart climbing hit “Something’s Gonna Kill Me.” The Sony Music Nashville team surprised Kent with his latest plaque at their office ahead of the 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville.
Last week, Kent attended his first No. 1 party for his Platinum-certified song, “Wild As Her,” written by Kelly Archer, Brett Tyler, and Morgan Wallen. While beaming with excitement and pride for the song’s success, the Oklahoma native/Texas troubadour made sure to highlight the songwriters’ contributions to the track over his own: “At the end of the day, as honored as I am to be standing up here, this in my mind is a songwriters’ award. So please, one more time, make some noise for the people that wrote this song.”
Continuing to enter the year with quite the momentum, Kent finished a tour stint in the UK supporting Ashley McBryde and is currently joining Parker McCollum on the “Burn It Down” tour. Amid his busy schedule, Kent is continuing to make a name for himself and will be performing at the 2024 New Faces of Country Music Show at CRS on March 1st for his success at country radio over the past year. Fan favorite “This Heart,” Kent’s current single which released last month, is impacting radio this week.
