Charismatic and dynamic vocal group Girls Next Door, well-known for their exquisite harmonies, recently released a stunning Christian Gospel single, “Livin’ in the Rain.” The vocal quartet is thrilled to premiere their new music video in support of that single on their official YouTube channel. Teeming with faith and spirituality, and overflowing with angelic harmonies, the new video premiered Wednesday, October 18.
“I felt like the ‘Livin’ in the Rain’ video needed to be simple and showcase Girls Next Door’s strong vocals,” explained Videographer Michael Psanos. “Having them perform outside, with only a stand-up bass, while ‘Soaking up the blessings of the good Lord,’ was perfect.”
“We have performed this song in our live show for over a year and had planned on the song being acapella,” shared Girls Next Door member Diane Austin. “Our producers came up with the idea of adding stand-up bass and a little percussion. We love it! It made for a very interesting scene in the video, with only the girls in a field of tall grass and a stand-up bass player – who happens to be Doris’ husband, Mike Merritt. Near the end, you will see a scene of the girls openly worshiping and communing with God and nature. This scene was quite organic. We had church in that field!”
Girls Next Door shared, “We listened to many possibilities and after hearing Jeff and Sheri Easter sing ‘Livin’ in the Rain,’ we knew we had found our song! While the single contains only bass and percussion instrumentation, we mostly sing this acapella in a live situation. We were immediately drawn to the possibilities and we are not disappointed!”
“I love the song “Living in the Rain” and the harmonies of the Girls Next Door are beautiful,” CEO of Absolutely Gospel (AGM) – Bev McCann stated. “This song will bring a smile to you face and your heart.”
“When four people sing as good as Girls Next Door, just snap your fingers and the magic begins!” exclaimed Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys. “‘Livin’ in the Rain’ will have you snapping your fingers too, and singing along!”
