JOSHUA DYLAN BALIS SHARES NEW SINGLE “WE’RE ON FIRE” ON FRIDAY (4/15)

“We’re On Fire” Is the Title Track From Josh’s Forthcoming Debut Album Of The Same Name, Due Out In May

Pre-save “We’re On Fire” Here: https://orcd.co/wereonfiresingle

Singer/Songwriter Joshua Dylan Balis is sharing new single “We’re On Fire” this Friday (4/15). “We’re On Fire” is the title track from his forthcoming debut album We’re On Fire (State Fair Records), due out on May 13th. With “We’re On Fire,” the rising folk-inspired Rock, singer-songwriter doubles down on the album’s central metaphor, writing about how love and time can alter perspective. Fans can pre-save “We’re On Fire,” ahead of its release on Friday, here: https://orcd.co/wereonfiresingle.

In celebration of the new song, Josh will perform a headlining show at The Basement (1604 8th Ave South, Ste. 330, Nashville, TN) on Friday night (4/15). Opening artists include Lauren Watkins and Reed Gaines. Josh is set to take the stage at 11p.m. The show starts at 9p.m. Doors open at 8p.m. The show is ages 21+. For tickets and more information, visit www.thebasementnashville.com.

“‘We’re On Fire’ is a double entendre, it refers to the lyrics in the song, which deal with the implications of finding purpose in an impermanent world, and with the transformative nature of the times we’re collectively living in. Indeed, we are on fire and the burning question in the background of our lives is ‘what will remain once the ashes have blown away?” shares Josh.

Examining life’s choices and what ignites them, Josh wrote his debut album We’re On Fire, after experiencing his own brush with death, making his way out of his Dallas apartment, after the building caught fire. In the days following that pivotal moment, he fully realized that we’re only given so much time, and like fuel to a fire, time eventually runs out. We’re On Fire details Josh’s transformative journey since then, with eleven self-penned songs that look back on his youth, the people that have come and gone, and what lies ahead.

“We’re On Fire” is the second single release from his debut album We’re On Fire, and follows his previously-released song “Stories,” written as a love letter to friends and family, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZA3hrL6BgU. “Stories” features his father Danny Balis, the co-founder and bassist of the band Bastards Of Soul on bass guitar. Central Track shared the song, saying it “…recalls Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, with a beautiful honesty in his smoke-filled vocals, confident acoustic guitar playing and tasteful harmonica playing.”

Josh is currently signed with Dallas, Texas record label State Fair Records. He grew up in a family of accomplished musicians including his grandmother Evelyn, who was a backup vocalist for Patsy Cline during her Hayride circuit, and his father Danny Balis, the co-owner of the Twilite Lounge music venue (Dallas / Fort Worth) and bassist of the band Bastards of Soul. MAY 10, 2022 AT THE NASHVILLE PALACE

Michael Ray, Lee Greenwood, Mark Wills, Ty Herndon, Wade Hayes, Rhett Akins, Ricochet, Craig Campbell, and more are set to join together at “A Music Memorial For Jeff Carson” to honor the country music hitmaker and Academy of Country Music award-winner. They will take the stage at The Nashville Palace in remembrance of their dear friend on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 PM to share, celebrate and honor their times with Carson through the years.

“I am so happy that many of Jeff’s friends and peers are coming out to honor his memory and, at the same time, raise money for this charitable cause,” shares Jeff’s wife, Kim Carson. “Jeff would be so thrilled with what we are doing. He loved his country music family and he loved his law enforcement family, so this will be a really special night.”

About Jeff Carson:
Carson was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and began his musical career early on singing in church. He recorded demos, including Tracy Byrd (“Walkin’ To Jerusalem”), Tracy Lawrence (“I See it Now”), Reba McEntire (“The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter”), Tim McGraw (“I Wouldn’t Want It Any Other Way”), Faith Hill (“It Matters To Me”), Mark Wills (“Places I’ve Never Been”), Diamond Rio (“Mirror Mirror”) among others. “Yeah Buddy,” was his first charting single and was followed up with ‘Not On Your Love,’ which went number one. The following single, ‘The Car,’ became a top-five hit, topping out at number two and won Carson his first Academy of Country Music award for “Video of the Year.” Carson had several other singles, including “Real Life (Was Never The Same Again)” from his album “Real Life.” In total, Carson’s career achieved 14 charted singles on the Billboard chart. Carson took a break from music to become a law enforcement officer with Franklin Police Department in Williamson County, Tennessee, where he remained on the police force.

Returning to music in 2019, he signed with Encore Music Group and has been in the studio with Buddy Hyatt recording a specialty album to be released later this year that included duets with Michael Ray, Darryl Worley, Mark Wills, and Craig Morgan.

CAITLYN SMITH RELEASES “DREAMIN’S FREE” FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM

Kicks Off Headlining Tour Tonight in Hometown Minneapolis, Minn.

A week before the release of her forthcoming self-produced third album, High, Monument Records’ acclaimed songstress Caitlyn Smith gives fans another sliver of what’s ahead with “Dreamin’s Free.”

“I spent a good portion of last year searching high and low through my memories and dreams,” shares the Minnesota-native. “I did what any songwriter would do: I turned off all the outside voices and started turning what I found into something that I want to sing.

“This song was born from that place. As an artist, dreaming fuels my life – the risks I choose to take and the art that I create and share with the world.”

Smith collaborated on the ode to big dreamin’ with GRAMMY-award winners Shane McAnally and Lori McKenna:

Yeah, I know that it ain’t been easy
Ain’t got a lot of honey, but we sure got bees
Up to our knees in the weeds and the trouble
‘cause money don’t grow on trees
We can run but wherever we go
Even the freeway gonna take its toll on you and me, baby
We ain’t rich but the dreamin’s free

Kicking things off in her hometown, Smith will begin her headlining The High & Low Tour tonight, at Minneapolis’ famous First Avenue, a former Greyhound bus depot turned iconic rock venue. The show will precede performances at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre on April 6, Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on April 7 and more.
