Singer-Songwriter Alannah McCready Spreads Holiday Cheer with Rendition of “The Christmas Song”

Singer-songwriter Alannah McCready has released a Christmas track, her very own rendition of a holiday classic, “The Christmas Song.” The track is available today on all streaming platforms. To listen to the track, click here.
McCready’s version of “The Christmas Song” keeps the integrity of the original tune while also featuring elegant, piano-focused production. Additionally, the track highlights McCready’s signature ethereal yet powerful vocals and ability to convey emotions in her music.
McCready’s family memories inspired her to record the song. She explained, “‘The Christmas Song’ is one of my favorite holiday songs so I decided to release my own version of it this year. This song brings me joy whenever I hear it because I am instantly reminded of holiday moments with my loved ones over the years. My family loves to spend Christmas singing our favorite classic Christmas songs. I hope my version brings you joy this holiday season as well!”
“The Christmas Song” comes on the heels of “Something Like That,” McCready’s previous single. “Something Like That,” will appear on McCready’s upcoming EP, to be released in early 2022.
Nashville-based country musician Alannah McCready was born near Minneapolis, MN, and has loved a diverse range of music since a very young age.  She attended the University of Madison, WI, on a full athletic scholarship for women’s hockey. Her passion for music never left completely, yet her involvement with the college and pro sports worlds did not allow a great deal of time to pursue other interests.
Upon graduating, McCready took a job doing PR for a sports management company in New York and began writing music again. Her uncle, a recording artist in Los Angeles, gave her a connection to a music producer in Nashville, who urged her to come to visit and test out a few songs.  To her delight, she was told by professionals that, yes, she should be pursuing a professional musical path.  She packed up her bags and moved south and has been honing her craft ever since.
McCready is taking her can-do attitude and confidence learned from playing a primarily male-dominated sport to her music career. She takes her creativity seriously but with a healthy dose of fun and playfulness for her craft.

About Paige King Johnson:
Born in a quiet North Carolina town just 22 miles south of Raleigh, as a young 9-year-old girl, Paige King Johnson spent her summers under the crepe myrtles imitating the styles of Loretta, Patsy, Waylon, and Merle. Having a grandpa as her biggest fan also meant receiving the gift of her first guitar – a baby Taylor – and enrolling in lessons. After her grandpa passed, the bright-eyed dreamer carried on his memory by taking her newfound discovery to local fairs, festivals, and any other stage she was allowed to stand on. As she grew older, Johnson added “opening act” to her resume, supporting chart-topping artists like Scotty McCreery, Neal McCoy, Luke Pell, and James Otto. And with high school graduation came the realization that this was more than a hobby. The Angier native traded in horse pastures and back roads for the bright lights of Music City in 2015. Upon starting school at Belmont University for Music Business, Johnson honed in on the magic that had heavily influenced her as a child: the art of storytelling through songwriting.

The famous Bluebird Café was just one of many writers’ circuits around Nashville that provided a safe space for Johnson to meet other writers, try out new tunes, and get feedback. In return, Johnson began captivating audiences with her down-home stage presence, cut straight to the bone stories and raw country voice, reminiscent of the classic country era. In the last four years, Johnson has traveled back and forth between Nashville and the Carolinas, playing shows like the North Carolina State Fair and running her dinner theater, Country on the Outskirts of Town, that she founded in high school. Johnson’s quarterly show provides an atmosphere for locals to enjoy Southern cooking, fellowship with friends, and the sounds of classic and current country music with some gospel thrown in. A three-time Carolina Country Music Awards Winner for Female Vocalist of the Year, Country Emerging New Artist, and Tour of the Year, Johnson’s devoted homegrown fan base continues to expand farther than just her backyard.
