American Music Award Favorite Country Duo or Group winners, Dan + Shay, add a fourth consecutive year to their reign. At the 2022 American Music Awards held in Los Angeles Sunday night, the duo were named the 2022 Favorite Country Duo or Group of the Year, their fourth time in a row to receive the honor, and their SEVENTH overall American Music Award. Making history in 2020 as the first country artist ever to take home the all-genre Collaboration of the Year trophy, the duo also presented the Artist of the Year award to Taylor Swift later that evening.
The AMA win comes on the heels of the brand-new original track, “Holiday Party,” co-written and co-produced by the duo’s Dan Smyers (LISTEN HERE). The official music video also released today, (WATCH HERE), is a festive celebration of the season and a warm addition to the GRAMMY-winning duo’s already successful holiday catalogue.
Dan + Shay lit-up holiday charts in 2021 with their Amazon Original “Pick Out A Christmas Tree” (available everywhere now), the year’s most-streamed new Holiday release in the US across all genres, and “Officially Christmas,” the #1 Country Airplay holiday release that year as well. The Yuletide standouts followed the 2020 releases of their first-ever original holiday songs, “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” which finds their signature harmonies “glowing over a cinematic melody” (Taste of Country) and the Gold-certified “Take Me Home For Christmas.” Described by Billboard as “the aural equivalent of Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” these four tracks have propelled the duo to garner more than 200 million global streams from their original holiday releases alone.
Their latest album, Good Things, was recently awarded Platinum certification after becoming the first country album in the streaming era to achieve RIAA Gold certification upon release. The project yielded chart-topping hits like the Platinum-certified singles “I Should Probably Go To Bed” and “Glad You Exist” as well as the 5x Platinum global smash “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber.
In the ten years since they formed, Dan + Shay have garnered more than 10 billion global career streams, earned 46 total RIAA certifications and achieved nine No. 1 singles at country radio. The duo has won three GRAMMY Awards, multiple CMA, ACM, AMA and BBMA Awards, plus an iHeart Titanium Award, signifying one billion audience spins for their 7x Platinum global smash “Tequila.”

“Everyone knows that I love country music and I know these artists love our chicken,” says Gus Arrendale of Springer Mountain Farms Chicken, the presenting sponsor of Christmas Cops & Country Music. “Anytime I get an opportunity to help our first responders and especially law enforcement, I am happy to support those efforts.”
Terri Gibbs, the “Somebody’s Knockin’” singer and CMA and ACM award winner, will make her first appearance on a Nashville stage in 20 years in support of the event. “I have not performed in Nashville since Twitty City and I am excited to come back and be part of this benefit show,” added Gibbs.
In addition to Gibbs, 70s yacht rock crooner John Ford Coley (of England Dan & John Ford Coley) and late 90s hitmaker Andy Griggs will join the already stellar lineup of 80s and 90s artists that include Michelle Wright, John Conlee, Shenandoah’s Marty Raybon, McBride & the Ride’s Terry McBride, T. Graham Brown, Ronnie McDowell, and David Frizzell.
“The first concert event that took place earlier this year in May to honor fallen officer and country music star Jeff Carson completely exceeded what we ever could have imagined,” says LEAP President Diane Wilhoit. “We were able to provide scholarships and purchase air units for police officers to use under their protective gear during the height of the summer. Now, we are collecting Christmas toys and gifts for families that might not get a visit from Santa. It is amazing to see the outpouring of support from everyone helping our community.”
Country-rocker Lewis Brice releases his version of the Holiday classic “Rudolph (The Red-Nosed Reindeer).” The playful and jolly guitar-driven track pairs perfectly with Brice’s gritty vocals and twang. The festive tune embodies the magic of the holidays and is the first Christmas song released by Brice. Click HERE to stream or download Brice’s version of “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
“I have been wanting to put my own spin on a classic Christmas song and when it came time to choose, ‘Rudolph,’ felt like such a memorable song. It takes me back to the magic of Christmas when you’re a kid. I hope everyone enjoys our version of this Holiday classic!” shared Brice.
Brice’s latest single, “Livin,'” was released earlier this year with a video that flawlessly captured the singer’s dynamic and high-energy performance that he’s become known for and “showcases the fun and wild side of his artistry (PopWrapped).”
Brice spent this past summer on the road, performing to packed audiences across the Southeast. The video for “Livin'” was filmed over the span of five different shows with four different videographers capturing footage. Featured in the video is Brice’s hometown show in South Carolina, hitting the stage at Carolina Country Music Fest as well as performances at Key West Songwriters Festival and opening for Michael Ray. PopWrapped exclusively premiered the track, noting that “the single’s production accompanies the lyrics in the song perfectly.”
Brice released “Call Me Yours,” another romantic single from the country singer, earlier this year. His previous single, “It’s You,” amassed more than 15 million streams, as covered in People, the video featured Brice’s wife, Denelle Manzer. The pair got married this October in Tennessee, see People.com’s exclusive coverage HERE. “Livin” is the third release of a forthcoming album from Brice, set for release early next year.
Brice has been named one of Rolling Stone Country’s “2017’s New Country Artists You Need to Know” and Billboard’s “Country Artists to Watch in 2018”. Tracks from the EP were featured on SiriusXM The Highway, CMT Music, and Spotify’s New Boots & Wild Country playlists, and its lead single ‘Best Ex Ever’ reached the Top 40 of MusicRow’s Country Breakout radio chart.
