The Chief to Headline Amphitheaters This Summer With Curated Lineup of 18 Special Guests
It’s a rite of passage for any music fan, seeing “The Chief” live in concert. Known for his marathon sets, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Tour honoree Eric Church brings his critically acclaimed live show to new audiences in new ways this year, headlining outdoor venues throughout the summer with The Outsiders Revival Tour. Joining the man praised by POLLSTAR for “having already long established himself as one of the most successful touring country artists” across varying dates are Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Koe Wetzel, Lainey Wilson, Midland, Parker McCollum, Travis Tritt, Elle King and Paul Cauthen, plus Jackson Dean, Morgan Wade, Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays.
“When I approach touring, I’m always inspired by a new experience, a new way to gather, to express ourselves sonically and visually. Whether it’s solo, in the round, double down; being able to bring a different perspective has always brought out our best creatively,” shared Church. “Well, we have never done an outdoor summer tour. Never headlined amphitheaters. Never brought a summer experience to your town that featured artists we want to share the summer with. Until now. See you in the season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down.”
Kicking off June 22, the Live Nation produced tour takes the man celebrated by Forbes for “offering fans a unique experience each night while conjuring up the unpredictability that used to make concerts unforgettable” to 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets to all dates go on sale next Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.com, with presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.
Elle King kicked off 2023 co-hosting and performing at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which was broadcast on CBS and is rounding out the week by releasing “Tulsa,” a new song from her forthcoming album, Come Get Your Wife. The new album will be released Friday, Jan 27.
While Tulsa has been named checked in many country songs, this is the first time it’s recognized for its spelling in reverse. “Tulsa is a song about doing someone wrong,” said King of the tune that includes the lyrics But if you spell it back to front you gonna know what I mean, he went back to Tulsa. “This is not about tearing women down but it’s about putting the blame on the wrongdoer. If a man is cheating on you, it’s not her fault because there are a million other girls he would do it with. And he’ll just cheat on her too. It’s a song about uniting and not taking shit from this real P.O.S.”
Written by King along with Ella Langley, Bobby Hamrick and Matt McKinney, “Tulsa” features background vocals by Ashley McBryde and John Osborne on guitar. “We wrote the song in less than an hour and it’s so raucous and fun,” King continued. “We’ve been playing it on the road and it’s the third song in our show now. It’s fun for us and the crowd!”
With the release of Come Get Your Wife only three weeks away, “Tulsa” is another glimpse into the fresh, unbridled and honest album that almost feels like a look into King’s journal. The brassy tune joins the current single “Worth A Shot” with Dierks Bentley – currently at #43 and rising, the previously released smash hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert, the banjo-basted take-your-small town gossip “Out Yonder,” and the hallelujah sass of “Try Jesus,” all part of the Come Get Your Wife line-up. King wrote eight of the 12 songs and co-produced the album with Ross Copperman.
The 5th Annual Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country Jam is set to take place at The Nashville Palace on Thursday, February 16, 2023, during The National Wild Turkey Federation’s 50th anniversary week and will feature performances from Easton Corbin, Mark Wills, Rhett Akins, Andy Griggs, Chad Brock and a few more to be announced. Daryle loved traditional country music and he loved those that supported it. He would be so proud to know that his friends continue to show up each year to ‘keep it country’.”
In addition, famed outdoorsman Michael Waddell will be on hand to receive the Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country award.
About Daryle Singletary:
Daryle Singletary rose to fame in the 90s with a string of successful hardcore country albums. From rural Georgia, where his father was a postmaster, Singletary moved to Nashville in 1990 to pursue a music career full-time. After catching the eye and ear of his musical hero, Randy Travis, Singletary released his debut record, the self-titled Daryle Singletary (1995), which produced four Billboard Hot Country charting singles, including the smash hit “I Let Her Lie,” which topped out at No. 2 on the charts. Additional hits included the 1996 single “Too Much Fun,” and 1997’s “Amen Kind of Love.” Other hit albums include 1998’s top-20 album, ‘Ain’t It the Truth,’ and a pair of albums featuring some of Singletary’s favorite country songs, ‘That’s Why I Sing This Way’ (2002) and ‘Straight From the Heart’ (2009). His last album, ‘There’s Still A Little Country Left,’ was released in 2015. In 2018, Singletary died at age 46, from a blood clot.
This week, Spotify kicked off its annual “Artist To Watch” campaign, using its various popular and influential playlist brands to highlight and amplify new artists, revealing its predictions for the next wave of music stars across various genres in 2023!
Yesterday, Most Necessary revealed its top hip-hop Artists to Watch list, and today, Hot Country, Spotify’s flagship country music playlist, is unveiling the roster of emerging stars who are primed to take the country music scene by storm and make their mark in the music industry this year.
Hot Country’s 2023 Artists To Watch, as announced on the Hot Country Instagram social handle include:
Up for two GRAMMY Awards including Best Country Album for her critically-acclaimed Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, the Arkansas-native brings the everytown character-laden opening track, “Brenda Put Your Bra On,” to life with its new music video, HERE, featuring album collaborators Pillbox Patti and Caylee Hammack.
Lauded by Slate as one of the best records of 2022, McBryde – and cast – dodge flying objects as Brenda takes her revenge in a video directed by ACM Award Winner Reid Long.
“As soon as we recorded this song, we knew we wanted to make a video for it,” McBryde reflects. “It’s the start of the action in Lindeville. There were a lot of ways we could have shot the video, yet Reid had the idea to capture all the insanity and drama in one continuous take, which feels very in tune with the spirit of this entire project…,” before the ACM and CMA Award winner laughingly adds, “how Lindeville of us!”
“One of Lindeville’s highlights,” says the Los Angeles Times, “a sparse acoustic number that alternates detailed verses about a club’s various habitués with a moving chorus.” That chorus “is crucial,” asserts PASTE, “because it makes explicit the project’s unifying theme: Everyone is flawed, and everyone is worthy of love and respect despite those flaws. Perhaps we should spend less time hiding our sins and weaknesses, and more time forgiving the same in others.”
Marking her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, following Warner Music Nashville’s Girl Going Nowhere in 2018 and Never Will in 2020, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville was produced by John Osborne and features performances from Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Aaron Raitiere, Patti, Hammack and Benjy Davis. Landing on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “The 100 Best Albums of 2022,” the project brings them all together “to spin stories of small-town life both heartbreaking and hilarious.”
McBryde is also GRAMMY nominated for No. 1 duet and co-write with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”
Singer/songwriter Emily Ann Roberts recently sat down and opened up about her latest song, “The Building” for her fans. Released in November, “The Building” was written about Emily Ann’s home church in East Tennessee where her great-grandfather began pastoring in 1942. The video features footage from the church’s historic 100-year anniversary celebration his past October and showcases Emily Ann leading worship for its congregation along with special anecdotes from the country artist about the impact her church has played in her life.
“The first place I ever sang in front of anybody was my church. I look back on it and all of my upbringing was within those walls, but at the same time, some of the hardest days of my life were spent there too. I know that on my best days it’s there for me and on my very worst, it’s there for me too,” said Emily Ann Roberts.

About Emily Ann Roberts
They say the way to the biggest stage is practice, practice, practice. And that’s exactly what Emily Ann Roberts has done, paying her dues from tiny stages in Knoxville to the biggest stage of all, the Grand Ole Opry. Since launching her career, Roberts has now played the coveted Opry stage 16 times. Before that, she made a name for herself on Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice before she’d even graduated from high school. In a way, being named as a runner-up was the biggest win of all. Because now, with all of that performing, songwriting and recording experience, Roberts has already racked up more than 19 million streams and was recently named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s Best Acts of CMA Fest. Growing up in East Tennessee, Roberts was raised on Smoky Mountain music, bluegrass players, and country artists from every era: from Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert and Cody Johnson. And all of that has prepared her to bring the country back to country music. Working with producer Trent Willmon means she’s collaborating with some of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters. So now, Roberts finds herself surrounded by people who are like-minded about making country music that will make its mark in the studio and on the stage. “I am passionate about entertaining. I do love singing, and songwriting has become a means to an end for me. I write so that I can take those songs and perform them, not the other way around.” With that, it’s safe to say that country music is in good hands with Roberts.
“I Hate Cowboys” Available Everywhere This Friday, January 6
One of the few contemporary Diamond-certified songwriting cardholders, Chase Rice is set to kick off the new year with brand new music, joining “Good Morning America” this Friday, Jan. 6, for a performance of “I Hate Cowboys.” Tune in to ABC during the 8 a.m. ET hour for this live debut of one of the two title tracks on Rice’s forthcoming album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, set for release Feb. 10.
In addition to the live performance airing this Friday, “I Hate Cowboys” will also be available everywhere that day along with an official music video that tributes the iconic history of cowboy culture. Written by Rice alongside HARDY, Ross Copperman and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi, the song and corresponding visuals serve as a tongue-in-cheek ode to how effortlessly cool true cowboys really are.
“When you listen to the song you of course get that I don’t actually hate cowboys – I’m really fortunate to call several of them great friends,” emphasizes Rice. “But damn, doesn’t it make you crazy when Mr. Steal Your Girl kicks open the door — with that hat and those Wranglers, and he can two-step better than you, talk cooler than you? ‘I Hate Cowboys’ is an ode to the fact that just like Taylor Sheridan writes in ‘Yellowstone,’ if it were easier everyone would cowboy…hell, I wish I could!”
I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell ranges from emotional reckoning to this admiration of a Western way of life evidenced in the title track, and also includes recent releases “Key West & Colorado” and “Way Down Yonder” plus a reimagined album version of “If I Were Rock & Roll.” Rice serves as a writer on all 13 tracks, including three solo writes, and the project honors his late father, Daniel Rice, with its cover art.
Rice will also bring the new music to fans on his headlining Way Down Yonder Tour this spring, visiting several iconic theaters such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre with special guests Avery Anna, Tyler Braden, Ashland Craft, Dalton Dover, Kameron Marlowe, Read Southall Band and Conner Smith across varying dates.
An all-star cast of iconic singers including Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Debbie Harry announce the upcoming release of the new single “Gonna Be You” from the Paramount Pictures film 80 FOR BRADY.
The song is written by iconic Honorary Oscar®, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning songwriter Diane Warren to be released on January 20th via R.A.F/BMG.
The Paramount Pictures film 80 FOR BRADY is inspired by the true story of four best friends living life to the fullest when they take a wild trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their hero Tom Brady play. Starring Academy Award® nominee Lily Tomlin, Academy Award® winner Jane Fonda, Academy Award® winner Rita Moreno and Academy Award® winner Sally Field, with 7-time Super Bowl Champion and producer Tom Brady, 80 FOR BRADY is in-theaters February 3, 2023.
“When I wrote ‘Gonna Be You’ for 80 FOR BRADY, I wanted to write a song that celebrated these women’s deep friendship,” says Warren. “Since 80 was in the title I got a crazy idea, why not get some of the most iconic singers from the 80s, who are still amazing and always will be, to all sing it?!!!! Everyone I approached said yes and was just as excited as me!! I’m honored to have Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Debbie Harry on this song!! ‘Gonna Be You’ is that song you want to sing along to with all your good friends!!!”
