HANNAH BLAYLOCK RELEASES “MARRIED ALONE” JANUARY 27

“Married Alone” releases January 27 with Childhood Friend and
CMT “Listen Up” 2023 Artist, Cody Belew

While many artists like Lee Brice have their own lanes – “nobody in Nashville writes better love songs right now than Brice” (USA Today) – it’s clear Hannah Blaylock is paving her own road as a master at songs of heartbreak. With tracks recorded by Reba McEntire (“Stronger than the Truth” was the title track to McEntire’s GRAMMY-nominated album), and “Married Alone,” cut by Sunny Sweeney and Vince Gill for Sweeney’s eponymous album (which rose to #2 on the Americana charts), Blaylock now takes the mic on her version of “Married Alone.”

On the song, co-written with Autumn McEntire and Josh Morningstar in 2019, Blaylock is joined by Cody Belew — one of CMT’s Listen Up Class of 2023, who Robert K. Oermann (MusicRow Magazine) calls “a for-real singer, for sure.”

“I tend to love writing good ol’ sad country songs and this is one of my recent favorites,” says Blaylock. “Cody and I recorded this over the pandemic lockdown in different locations, yet it’s one of the most intimate duets I’ve recorded, probably because Cody and I have known each other since 9th grade – he just gets me. Of all the voices I could have had on this song, I love that it’s his.”

“I owe a lot of credit to our producer Skylar Wilson who coordinated every instrument and masterminded all the puzzle pieces together,” she adds. “It’s one of those works that represents a time in history we will never forget and will be telling our children’s children about; when the world stopped.”

Belew says, “If you ever get the chance to sing with Hannah Blaylock, take it. She’s truly as good as it gets. Pair that with a song she wrote with one of Nashville’s finest songwriters, Autumn McEntire, and suddenly I’m pinching myself. Is this even real?! I don’t know Josh Morningstar, the third writer on ‘Married Alone,’ but what I do know is that he helped write a timeless country song. In my opinion, it’s one of the best examples of country music that I’ve heard in a long, long time.”

About Hannah Blaylock:
Hannah Blaylock is an award-winning Country and Americana singer/songwriter. She released her first solo LP Bandit Queen, in Austin, TX with award-winning producer Martin Strayer and The Chicks in 2017. Her most recent release, The Fall EP, is the first half of an LP she will be putting out throughout 2023. She recorded the works with longtime friends and co-creators Autumn Mcentire and Jared Conrad. She has an extensive touring career making 20+ appearances on The Grand Ole Opry and has embarked on four major national country music tours, opening for artists including Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts, and has shared the stage with artists like Ricky Skaggs and Alison Krauss. As a songwriter, she has had cuts such as Reba McEntire and Sunny Sweeney, and a top 20 charted single “Amen,” which she sang and performed in her former band, Edens Edge.

About Cody Belew:
Born and raised in rural Arkansas, singer/songwriter Cody Belew spent his childhood fishing, building forts, riding horses, and catching lightning bugs in mason jars. His love of the South is in his blood, and his music reflects the gritty, soulful textures that separate him from the rest of the pack in today’s country landscape. While Cody reminisces about the smells of hot biscuits on his mama’s stove, the sounds of crickets and bullfrogs in the fields, and the rough textures of lumber he worked on with his dad in the family barn, the thing he says speaks to him most is the one-room church in his hometown of Beebe, Arkansas, where he learned to sing when he was just a toddler.

Pursuing a music degree, Cody eventually moved to Nashville, where he made ends meet working with fashion, furniture restoration, and music. It wasn’t long before his vocal and songwriting talents were recognized, earning him an appearance on NBC’s The Voice.

After finishing The Voice as a Top 8 finalist, Cody was asked to open for Delta Rae, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts, and more, and started writing with GRAMMY Award-winning Deana Carter and Mike Reid, ACM Award winner Tia Sellers, and ascending recording artists like Hailey Whitters, Rick Brantley, and Waylon Payne.

Assembling a mix of candid originals and well-loved classics by artists who inspired him, Cody released his debut EP (the self-titled Cody Belew via Visionary Media Group) on March 18, 2022, and has a new album in the works for 2023.

ELLE KING RELEASED THE BODACIOUS NEW SONG “TULSA” ON JAN. 6

One of 12 Songs from New Album Come Get Your Wife Out Jan 27

Elle King kicked off 2023 co-hosting and performing at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, which was broadcast on CBS and is rounding out the week by releasing Tulsa,” a new song from her forthcoming album, Come Get Your Wife. The new album will be released Friday, Jan 27.

While Tulsa has been named checked in many country songs, this is the first time it’s recognized for its spelling in reverse. “Tulsa is a song about doing someone wrong,” said King of the tune that includes the lyrics But if you spell it back to front you gonna know what I mean, he went back to Tulsa. “This is not about tearing women down but it’s about putting the blame on the wrongdoer. If a man is cheating on you, it’s not her fault because there are a million other girls he would do it with. And he’ll just cheat on her too. It’s a song about uniting and not taking shit from this real P.O.S.”

Written by King along with Ella Langley, Bobby Hamrick and Matt McKinney, “Tulsa” features background vocals by Ashley McBryde and John Osborne on guitar. “We wrote the song in less than an hour and it’s so raucous and fun,” King continued. “We’ve been playing it on the road and it’s the third song in our show now. It’s fun for us and the crowd!”

With the release of Come Get Your Wife only three weeks away, “Tulsa” is another glimpse into the fresh, unbridled and honest album that almost feels like a look into King’s journal. The brassy tune joins the current single “Worth A Shot” with Dierks Bentley – currently at #43 and rising, the previously released smash hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert, the banjo-basted take-your-small town gossip “Out Yonder,” and the hallelujah sass of “Try Jesus,” all part of the Come Get Your Wife line-up. King wrote eight of the 12 songs and co-produced the album with Ross Copperman.

MULTI-CCMA AWARD WINNING COUNTRY SINGER BRETT KISSEL TO RELEASE FOUR-PART “THE COMPASS PROJECT”

First Album, ‘South Album’, Features New Single “Never Have I Ever” – Out Now!
Platinum-selling country artist Brett Kissel is about to unveil his biggest project to date: a four-part album project, titled The Compass Project. The first part, South Album, features 11 songs and will be released on January 27, with the remaining three being released throughout the year. South Album includes Kissel’s new single, “Never Have I Ever,” which is out now (listen to the single here and watch the lyric video here). Other songs include the fan-favorite track “Ain’t The Same,” featuring pop group 98°, and recent releases of Kissel’s, such as “Watch It” and “Our Home.” South Album is now available for pre-save here.
Kissel spoke on the release of The Compass Project, saying, “The Compass Project is without question the most ambitious project I’ve ever undertaken. It’s also the one I’m most excited about, being that the complete project includes four full-length albums. At this point in my life and career, I want to tap into all of the different quadrants that represent and guide me as a person, husband, father, artist, and entertainer. Those themes resonate in the distinct direction I take on each album!”
Each album part describes a different part of Kissel’s personality and sound. Before each album is released, feature tracks will drop as singles to give listeners a taste of what to expect from each one. The first part, South Album, is “Classic Brett,” as he calls it, which features contemporary tracks that fans will enjoy singing along to.
“‘South’ is a straightforward, heartfelt, and authentic album that my fans would expect. This one has the heartbeat of Nashville pulsing through every song.”
East Album will be the next released album with more of a spotlight on Kissel’s acoustic, laidback side and is set to release in the early spring.
“‘East’ is a collection of songs that reflect a more stripped-down, heartfelt acoustic side of me. It’s inspired by the ocean and my love for both coasts – the Atlantic and Pacific.”
Released in mid-summer is the West Album. West will bring in the southern twang and classic country that Kissel loves to perform.
Kissel spoke about the West Album, saying, “The ‘West Album’ contains two of my biggest loves – country and western music. It will have the tales and topics that have been the lifeblood of country music since the beginning.”
Rounding out the project will be the North Album, containing many of Kissel’s greatest hits performed live, as it shows his passion for performing. This will be released in the fall.
“I love to entertain. The stages and crowds have always given me a massive burst of energy, and the ‘North Album’ will revisit live versions of some of my biggest hits and crowd favorites,” Kissel adds.
Kissel has become a household name since the beginning of his career in 2012. The multi-platinum artist has won 22 CCMA awards and three JUNO awards (equivalent to the American Grammy). The singer has toured with Brad Paisley and Garth Brooks as well as collaborated with Grammy winners Charley Pride, Dave Mustaine, Nelly, and 98°.
“I hope that throughout the year 2023, my fans – old and new – get a 365-degree view of me, my life, and my music. I can’t wait to embark on the journey with them.”

ASHLEY MCBRYDE’S “BRENDA PUT YOUR BRA ON” BRINGS LINDEVILLE TO LIFE

Music Video Featuring McBryde w/ Caylee Hammack and Pillbox Patti Out Now

Up for two GRAMMY Awards including Best Country Album for her critically-acclaimed Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, the Arkansas-native brings the everytown character-laden opening track, “Brenda Put Your Bra On,” to life with its new music video, HERE, featuring album collaborators Pillbox Patti and Caylee Hammack.
Lauded by Slate as one of the best records of 2022, McBryde – and cast – dodge flying objects as Brenda takes her revenge in a video directed by ACM Award Winner Reid Long.

“As soon as we recorded this song, we knew we wanted to make a video for it,” McBryde reflects. “It’s the start of the action in Lindeville. There were a lot of ways we could have shot the video, yet Reid had the idea to capture all the insanity and drama in one continuous take, which feels very in tune with the spirit of this entire project…,” before the ACM and CMA Award winner laughingly adds, “how Lindeville of us!”

“One of Lindeville’s highlights,” says the Los Angeles Times, “a sparse acoustic number that alternates detailed verses about a club’s various habitués with a moving chorus.” That chorus “is crucial,” asserts PASTE, “because it makes explicit the project’s unifying theme: Everyone is flawed, and everyone is worthy of love and respect despite those flaws. Perhaps we should spend less time hiding our sins and weaknesses, and more time forgiving the same in others.”

Marking her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, following Warner Music Nashville’s Girl Going Nowhere in 2018 and Never Will in 2020, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville was produced by John Osborne and features performances from Brothers Osborne, Brandy ClarkAaron Raitiere, Patti, Hammack and Benjy Davis. Landing on Rolling Stone’s all-genre “The 100 Best Albums of 2022,” the project brings them all together “to spin stories of small-town life both heartbreaking and hilarious.”

McBryde is also GRAMMY nominated for No. 1 duet and co-write with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl.”

EMILY ANN ROBERTS RELEASES ‘BEHIND THE SONG’ AND OPENS UP ABOUT HER LATEST RELEASE, “THE BUILDING”

Singer/songwriter Emily Ann Roberts recently sat down and opened up about her latest song, “The Building” for her fans. Released in November, “The Building” was written about Emily Ann’s home church in East Tennessee where her great-grandfather began pastoring in 1942. The video features footage from the church’s historic 100-year anniversary celebration his past October and showcases Emily Ann leading worship for its congregation along with special anecdotes from the country artist about the impact her church has played in her life.

“The first place I ever sang in front of anybody was my church. I look back on it and all of my upbringing was within those walls, but at the same time, some of the hardest days of my life were spent there too. I know that on my best days it’s there for me and on my very worst, it’s there for me too,” said Emily Ann Roberts.

About Emily Ann Roberts
They say the way to the biggest stage is practice, practice, practice. And that’s exactly what Emily Ann Roberts has done, paying her dues from tiny stages in Knoxville to the biggest stage of all, the Grand Ole Opry. Since launching her career, Roberts has now played the coveted Opry stage 16 times. Before that, she made a name for herself on Blake Shelton’s team on The Voice before she’d even graduated from high school. In a way, being named as a runner-up was the biggest win of all. Because now, with all of that performing, songwriting and recording experience, Roberts has already racked up more than 19 million streams and was recently named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s Best Acts of CMA Fest.  Growing up in East Tennessee, Roberts was raised on Smoky Mountain music, bluegrass players, and country artists from every era: from Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton to Miranda Lambert and Cody Johnson. And all of that has prepared her to bring the country back to country music. Working with producer Trent Willmon means she’s collaborating with some of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters. So now, Roberts finds herself surrounded by people who are like-minded about making country music that will make its mark in the studio and on the stage. “I am passionate about entertaining. I do love singing, and songwriting has become a means to an end for me. I write so that I can take those songs and perform them, not the other way around.” With that, it’s safe to say that country music is in good hands with Roberts.

CHASE RICE KICKS OFF 2023 WITH DEBUT PERFORMANCE OF “I HATE COWBOYS” THIS FRIDAY, JANUARY 6 ON ABC’S “GOOD MORNING AMERICA”

Forthcoming Album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell Set for Release February 10

“I Hate Cowboys” Available Everywhere This Friday, January 6

One of the few contemporary Diamond-certified songwriting cardholders, Chase Rice is set to kick off the new year with brand new music, joining “Good Morning America” this Friday, Jan. 6, for a performance of “I Hate Cowboys.” Tune in to ABC during the 8 a.m. ET hour for this live debut of one of the two title tracks on Rice’s forthcoming album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell, set for release Feb. 10.

In addition to the live performance airing this Friday, “I Hate Cowboys” will also be available everywhere that day along with an official music video that tributes the iconic history of cowboy culture. Written by Rice alongside HARDY, Ross Copperman and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi, the song and corresponding visuals serve as a tongue-in-cheek ode to how effortlessly cool true cowboys really are.

“When you listen to the song you of course get that I don’t actually hate cowboys – I’m really fortunate to call several of them great friends,” emphasizes Rice. “But damn, doesn’t it make you crazy when Mr. Steal Your Girl kicks open the door — with that hat and those Wranglers, and he can two-step better than you, talk cooler than you? ‘I Hate Cowboys’ is an ode to the fact that just like Taylor Sheridan writes in ‘Yellowstone,’ if it were easier everyone would cowboy…hell, I wish I could!”

I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell ranges from emotional reckoning to this admiration of a Western way of life evidenced in the title track, and also includes recent releases “Key West & Colorado” and “Way Down Yonder” plus a reimagined album version of “If I Were Rock & Roll.” Rice serves as a writer on all 13 tracks, including three solo writes, and the project honors his late father, Daniel Rice, with its cover art.

Rice will also bring the new music to fans on his headlining Way Down Yonder Tour this spring, visiting several iconic theaters such as Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, Boston’s House of Blues and Athens’ Georgia Theatre with special guests Avery AnnaTyler BradenAshland CraftDalton DoverKameron MarloweRead Southall Band and Conner Smith across varying dates.
