CARLISLE WRIGHT PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE SOUND THAT RAISED HER ON “WRIGHT KINDA COUNTRY”

Rising country artist Carlisle Wright proudly embraces the music that raised her with her new single, “Wright Kinda Country,” an unapologetic celebration of classic country, honky-tonks and good ol’ fashioned twang. Written by Wright alongside Nicole Witt and Matt McClure, the playful, fiddle-filled track introduces listeners to the sound and spirit behind the emerging artist. Packed with personality, “Wright Kinda Country” is equal parts introduction, love letter and declaration – a bold statement from an artist who knows exactly where she comes from and the kind of country she wants to make.
“Being younger, I get asked ‘Why classic country?’ a lot,” explains Carlisle. “It takes me back to when I was first introduced to classic country with my dad’s Sleepy Time CDs that I would fall asleep to as a kid. Once I was able to pick up a guitar, sing, and write, it’s what I fell in love with. It’s nostalgic, familiar, and well…classic!”
A fourth-generation singer-songwriter with South Georgia roots who was raised in Tennessee, Wright has country music running through her veins. The autobiographical track traces her journey from catching her first fish with a Barbie rod and reel to picking up her dad’s guitar at just three years old. With a healthy dose of twang and a whole lot of personality, “Wright Kinda Country” is Wright’s declaration of the sound she loves – timeless country tunes built on three chords, a good story, cheating songs and honky-tonks.
Following a milestone-filled summer that included her Grand Ole Opry debut, a performance at CMA Fest, and opening for Alan Jackson at his sold-out “Last Call: One More For The Road – The Finale” at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, Wright is continuing to build momentum with music that stays true to her roots.
