BMI hitmaker Kane Brown brought the music industry together yesterday (6/04) at BMI Nashville to celebrate his 11th career #1 at Country radio, “I Can Feel It.” Hosted by BMI and ASCAP, the Sony Music Nashville/RCA Nashville artist was joined onstage by his co-writers Jaxson Free (BMI) and Gabe Foust (ASCAP) to commemorate the milestone. In addition to being Kane’s 11th #1, “I Can Feel It” marks the first #1 for songwriter Gabe Foust, who is signed to Kane’s publishing company Verse 2, marking the company’s 4th #1 since launching four years ago. Additionally, it marks Jaxson Free’s second chart-topping hit, and his second #1 with Kane. The song, which incorporates Phill Collins’ (PRS) hit “In The Air Tonight,” serves as Collins’ first #1 single on a Billboard chart since the song topped the Rock Digital Songs chart in 2020 and Collins’ first career #1 on Country radio.
From stage, Kane thanked everyone in the room for being a part of the song’s success and congratulated Gabe and Jaxson on their first and second hits, sharing how much it meant to him to see them have their moment on stage. Speaking of his first #1, Verse 2 songwriter Gabe thanked his parents, who had traveled from Indiana to be there, noting he “gave them a lot of hell as a kid” and thanked them for their support over the years before dedicating his first #1 officially to his late brother.
