SKIP EWING’S NEW ALBUM DRAGONFLY IS AVAILABLE TODAY, SEPTEMBER 18

Award-winning singer-songwriter and recording artist Skip Ewing’s new album DRAGONFLY takes wing tomorrow, September 18. The project finds Ewing blending a lifetime of hard-earned wisdom with the aspiration for authentic connection. The result? Ten songs of love, hope, transition, and transformation nourished by masterful lyrics and powerful delivery.

“Traditionally, dragonflies represent spiritual growth, metamorphosis, maturity, adaptation and renewal, along with light, clarity, joy and happiness,” shares Ewing. “It was an epiphany that this project and my own personal journey unapologetically embodied all of those things.”

Catch him at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday, September 19 where he’ll perform music from the new album. Tickets are available HERE. Other recent and upcoming live appearances include WSM’s “Heart of the Night with Nan Kelley” (9/14) and “The Kelly Sutton Show” (9/16), along with RFD-TV (9/17), and “Local on 2”/ABC TV Nashville (9/18).

Grounded in insight gained from over a decade out west and inspired by his 1:1 work with horses in Wyoming, DRAGONFLY pairs contemporary country production with timeless themes—raw emotion, lyrical depth, dynamic vocal range and an unfiltered heart. Self-penned, apart from an epic take on “Down On The Corner,” Ewing, alongside an A-list production and studio team, weaves the journey masterfully. There is universal reflection in “Me & God and a Fishing Pole,” unfettered resilience in “Play On,” as well as angst and heartache in both “Not Me This Time” and the gritty country confession, “Whiskey And You.”

The project is produced by Ewing alongside his longtime friends and collaborators, 5x GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer F. Reid Shippen (Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith) and 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning guitar legend Bryan Sutton (Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Eric Church).

With 2026 performances at the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Ewing stays busy around the DRAGONFLY release including appearances on ACME Radio Live, The Crook & Chase Countdown, Big D & Bubba, The American Country Network, Prime Country with Caylee Hammack (SXM), and Ten Year Town podcast along with features with Cowboys & Indians, Hook & Barrel, Taste of Country, and more!

About Skip Ewing
A natural born storyteller, Skip Ewing’s signature gift for vivid songcraft and true-to-life human connection made him a chart-topping star at the turn of the 90s with six top 20 hits including the top 5 country classics “Burnin’ a Hole in My Heart” and “It’s You Again.” Along with his own solo successes, Ewing is one of Nashville’s most prolific songwriters, with eleven No. 1 songwriting credits including Randy Travis’ “If I Didn’t Have You” and NSAI Song of the Year, Clint Black’s “Something That We Do.” With songs recorded by country superstars such as ERNEST and Lainey Wilson (2025’s “Would If I Could”), Keith Urban, George Strait, Zac Brown Band, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson, and Shania Twain, he’s earned countless honors and accolades including a prestigious CMA Triple Play Award and BMI Songwriter of the Year Award as well as multiple ACM, BMI, CMA, GRAMMY®, NSAI and Songwriter Hall of Fame nominations.

Ewing’s ceaseless quest for personal growth led him to step away from the bright lights of Nashville for the wide-open spaces of Wyoming, where he devoted himself to his love of nature and horsemanship while caretaking on a ranch outside Yellowstone National Park. As his spirit rejuvenated, Ewing eventually picked up his guitar and returned to creating and performing country music that chronicled the tale of his ongoing human journey, captured on such well-received albums as 2020’s Wyoming, 2021’s Christmas, and 2024’s Road to California, all of which continue to garner him critical and popular acclaim.

Ewing’s eagerly awaited new album, DRAGONFLY, out September 18, sees the veteran artist bringing his extraordinary life experiences and philosophical temperament to bear on the essential new project. With its contemporary sound and timeless themes of love, heartache, and the struggles and triumphs of daily life, DRAGONFLY makes it plain that Skip Ewing’s approach to country music remains as resonant and richly formidable as ever, uniquely able to reach across generations with authenticity, positive energy, and an avowed commitment to creating universal connection.
