ASHLEY MCBRYDE STRIKES GOLD AND GIVES BACK WITH NEW “LIGHT ON FUND”

It has been a season of milestones for Grand Ole Opry member Ashley McBryde, who recently celebrated the RIAA Gold-certification of her hit single, “Light On In The Kitchen.” The Arkansas native was surprised with a commemorative plaque during her Redemption Residency shows at Chief’s on Broadway, marking another significant achievement for the lead single from her critically acclaimed 2023 album, The Devil I Know.
The certification comes on the heels of a much larger mission for McBryde. Earlier this month, she launched the Light On Fund, a charitable initiative established to support causes that have personally shaped her life and history. The fund’s name is a direct tribute to the women who inspired the song—her mother, Martha, and her mother’s two sisters—serving as a “musical tapestry” of the lessons and quiet strength they passed down.
A Mission of Advocacy and Support
The Light On Fund is designed to be a “safe haven” for those in need, focusing its efforts on several key areas:
Veteran Mental Health: Advocacy and resources for those who have served.
Creative Community Rehab: Support for artists and creators seeking rehabilitation.
Foster Care System: Aiding children navigating the system.
Accessibility: Championing ASL interpretation at live music events.
“Leaving the light on for someone is the same as telling them you love them where I’m from,” McBryde shared. Beginning in 2026, the fund will announce a specific charitable focus each quarter to ensure a wide range of needs are met.
A Year of “Dr. McBryde”
The Gold plaque is just the latest honor in a whirlwind 2025 for the Grammy, CMA, and ACM winner. In May, McBryde returned to her alma mater, Arkansas State University, to receive an honorary doctorate in music—a full-circle moment for the former French horn player who once dreamed of being a band director.
Now touring as “Dr. McBryde,” the singer recently opened her non-alcoholic-forward Redemption Bar at Eric Church’s Chief’s in Nashville. The venue serves as the home for her sold-out Redemption Residency, which concludes its current slate of dates through the end of 2025.
