RECORDS Nashville singer/songwriter George Birge is grateful to celebrate a milestone year by making his solo Grand Ole Opry debut days before the Thanksgiving holiday. After an introduction by Opry member Jamey Johnson to a packed house, the Austin native brought the energy with performances of That Drink,” a re-imagination of Neal McCoy’s “Wink,” as well his current single Mind On You” which recently landed him the No. 1 most-added song at Country radio.

“This past year has been pretty wild for me.  In 2020 I had basically given up the idea of playing live music. I thought I was going to write songs for other people.  ‘Mind On You’ has changed my life,” shares Birge. “I still can’t believe I made my Opry debut tonight—it’s such a special place with so much history.  I am truly humbled by this opportunity and can’t wait to be back.”
“Mind On You,” from George’s self-titled debut EP, has already accumulated over 8 million streams, but almost wasn’t even recorded by George. Co-written by George along with  Jaron Boyer, Michael Tyler and  Colt Ford  and produced by  Ash Bowers, “Mind On You” was originally on hold by Jason Aldean, but after George was offered a deal with RECORDS Nashville, he decided to release it himself.

George currently has over 30 million streams across his catalog to date.  Catch him on the road with labelmate Matt Stell on his Man Made Tour which runs through December. He is also special guest at Bobby Bones’ Comedically Inspirational show on 12/4 in Las Vegas.

George’s self-titled debut solo EP, which “mixes classic steel and modern programming beneath smooth Keith Urban-like phrasing and melodicism” (Billboard), features 5 tracks, 4 of which George co-wrote. The EP includes the singer/songwriter’s debut smash hit Beer Beer, Truck Truck,” which quickly went viral not long after joining TikTok, where he now has over 200K followers. George also recently released a brand-new song called, That Drink,” twist on Neal McCoy’s “Wink,” which also features Neal McCoy himself. With over 30 Million streams across his catalog to date, George has been featured in NPR All Things ConsideredPeople.com, American Songwriter Taste Of Country, and named one of Nashville Lifestyles’ “Artists You Need To Know.” A busy slate of new music is expected in the coming months.
