Jimmie Allen Celebrates Two Hit Songs at Double #1 Party
SESAC and BMI and a group of music industry friends and family came together at the SESAC office on Tuesday, May 17 to celebrate the success of Stoney Creek recording artist and SESAC songwriter Jimmie Allen’s latest #1 hits, “Make Me Want To” and “Freedom Was A Highway.”
Jimmie’s second #1 single, “Make Me Want To,” reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart on March 7, 2020. Jennifer Denmark and Paul Sikes are cowriters on the song, which was co-produced by Eric Torres and Ash Bowers. Ash also co-produced and co-wrote “Freedom Was A Highway” along with Jimmie, and co-writer Matthew J Rogers. The song, recorded as a duet with Brad Paisley, reached the top of the chart on February 19, 2022.
On hand to honor the group were Shannan Hatch (SESAC), MaryAnn Keen (BMI), Michael Martin (Endurance Music Group), Colt Murski (Curb/Word Entertainment), Josh Van Valkenburg (Sony Music Publishing), and Jon Loba (BBR). The Frozen Farmer, based in Jimmie Allen’s native Delaware, provided tasty treats for partygoers.
